3 Night Southern Yasawa Islands Cruise
The pristine islands of Waya, Naviti and Viwa boast some of the most beautiful beaches, coral reefs and sand cays in Fiji. On your journey through the Southern Yasawa Islands you'll experience a traditional village sevusevu ceremony and meet the children of an island school.
Music and song is an integral part of Fijian life and the special choral church service on Sunday is an unforgettable experience. Swimming, snorkelling, beach combing and glass bottom boat tours complete your daily list of activities giving you the freedom to do as much or as little as you like.
You will be delighted with the warm, personalised service of the friendly crew onboard Captain Cook's Reef Escape and be captivated by their beautiful islands on these 3 night Fiji cruises.
From 06Feb10 this cruise will operate aboard MV Reef Endeavour. Reef Endeavour is Captain Cook Cruises flagship cruiser and has very similar cabin configurations and ship layouts as MV Reef Escape.
Itinerary
Day 1: A late afternoon visit to Tivua Island - a sanctuary for breeding turtles and the almost extinct Bici flightless woodhen - is your introduction to cruising the islands of Fiji. Swim, explore and relax before the Welcome Dinner aboard the Reef Escape.
Day 2: Journey into the birthplace of Fijian culture on the Sacred Island, where the local chief has granted exclusive access to Captain Cook cruise guests. As the crew lands, they perform the ancient gift-giving ceremony of Sevusevu to gain admission to the island. You can while away the midday swimming, sun-bathing or drifting above the island's coral reefs in a glass-bottomed boat - there's great snorkelling too. Late afternoon, cruise to Nalauwaki on Waya Island for a special treat: a choral service in the village church, and, in the evening, entertainment at the Fiji Show.
Day 3: Enjoy a whole day and evening on the Waya Islands, a South Pacific paradise where volcanic peaks tower over palm-fringed beaches. After a morning of swimming and island exploration, deepen your experience of Fijian village culture with a visit to the shell and handicraft market. In the early evening it's time for a village 'meke' and kava ceremony followed by a traditional 'lovo' feast.
Day 4: Enjoy breakfast as you return to port.

Vessel Details
MV Reef Escape's small size and shallow draft make it uniquely suited to navigate the sheltered waters of the Yasawa Islands where coral reefs abound. There are big ship comforts too, including a swimming pool, extensive outdoor leisure decks and an embarkation platform with a lift from water level to the main deck. The accommodation is also extraordinarily light and open for a vessel of this size. Floor to ceiling windows, opening directly on to the outside deck, offer spectacular views.
Shipboard features include a purpose-built conference room and single sitting dining room. The onboard atmosphere is casual and relaxed. Sarongs and shorts are the daily attire for lazing around the pool, coffee bar and sun deck. At sunset the mood changes to champagne and cocktails in the panoramic lounge, as the dining saloon converts to a sea of white linen, a la carte dining and island entertainment. [floorplan]
